Ever Heard of Personal Space?

Have you ever heard about personal space?
I really cannot stand it when people are trying to talk to you and they come right in your face!
Please back off a little. It’s even worse when you take a step back from them, giving them a little space, but they take a step even closer.
Sometimes I feel like putting my arm out to say; I can still hear you from arm’s length you know? So you don’t have to come right in my face to talk to me.

The alternative is to start walking round like this guy in South Africa

 So what is personal space?

I didn’t make it up; there is actually a dictionary meaning for it.
It is simply the physical space immediately surrounding someone.

I don’t mean when you are on the train/tube or public transport when you have to stand or sit so close to each other.  I mean when you are out and about or at work or anywhere else, please respect people’s private space.
It’s ok if you are a spouse, kid, family or a cuddly best friend but if you are none of those to me, please don’t stand this close to me or anyone else its simply not right.

Ladies Please Wake Up !

My pipu (People)
I need help here.
I don’t get ladies  these days
I know a few (Ok more than a few) that wants to marry by all means, seriously?
Not that marriage is not good o, but you are going about it for the wrong reasons.
Its marriage season now, everyone is getting married. Plenty ladies are getting depressed that they are being left behind.
What is wrong with focusing on “you” during this waiting time?
What is wrong with investing in your life?
A lot of this “ready to marry ladies” don’t even have good jobs o, yet they want to marry. Most of you are either squatting with friends or family, you don’t know what it means to live alone or pay bills.
Please who wants to marry a liability?
It doesn’t matter what job you do or what you do just be able to look after yourself financially before looking for a man to marry.
Dating sef won’t work if he is the only one working and you are just home all the time.
My friend, he will find another working class girl and you will be history.
Now I know the job market is more than difficult in Nigeria but there are other things you can do to make money.
A lot of people think leaving Nigeria will make them successful. Forget it o, if you don’t make it in Nigeria, it will be hard to make it anywhere else. This applies to gents and ladies.
And no let me hear you say its cos I’m abroad that I can say that.
Yes I am abroad and very much in touch with peeps back home.
The opportunities out there are vast, as in too many “easy” ways of making money with low start-up costs too. Send me a mail if you want some. Only serious minded hustlers o, no quick money scheme anywhere, you work hard and hustle and you definitely will make money.

But really this post is for the ladies, please invest in yourself. Position yourself well. Don’t do follow follow wey no get money! Those friends will leave you and move on to the next happening/successful babe if they realize you worth nothing. (Story for another day)
Stop belittling yourself, carry yourself with respect, position yourself "strategically" and love will find you.

Looking After Your Kidneys---IMPORTANT INFO---

Hey peeps,

Trust you are all well.

Today is world kidney day!

I feel like I need to write something about it because  the ignorance of people bother me.

People do things that damage their kidneys daily.

I am not sure this is cos of their ignorance or they just can't be bothered or they just don't know how severe it can get.

Meanwhile just  little changes here and there will make all the difference to make your kidneys last longer.

So what do the kidneys do?

They get rid of excess water and toxins in the body.

They regulate blood pressure,

They make red blood cells

They keep your bones strong too, that's right......It not just calcium

Kidney disease is very common and can affect anyone  I mean adults and kids too.
There is no cure......... the failure of the kidney is very fatal and might require a lifetime of dialysis or worse case scenario, a kidney transplant.

Statistics has shown that black people  (Afro Caribbean) are 5 times more likely to  experience kidney failure than other ethnicities. So without you doing something wrong as an African person,  you are prone to kidney failure anyway ( so why do things that would make it worse)

If you are diabetic and it is not well controlled, it can cause kidney disease.

Uncontrolled High blood pressure is also one of the biggest causes of kidney diseases.

If you happen to be overweight too, you are at a bigger risk of kidney disease.

This probably sounds like a broken record, but if you smoke, it can slow blood flow to the kidneys and stop them from working properly.

If you are experiencing any of the following  early warning signs that you might be developing kidney disease:
  • fatigue
  • difficulty concentrating
  • trouble sleeping
  • poor appetite
  • muscle cramping
  • swollen feet/ankles
  • puffiness around the eyes in the morning
  • dry, scaly skin
  • frequent urination, especially late at night
Please go to the hospital and ask for a Kidney Function Test

So unless you are "stinkingly" rich and love pain please change some habits in your life to make your kidneys last longer.
Drink a lot of water.  If possible let it be filtered water or boiled water. ( If you are a dialysis patient, you might need to restrict your fluid intake) Drinking lots helps the kidney clear sodium Urea and toxins from the body which will lower the risk of kidney diseases. Don't replace water with juice just cos you are rich. Water is essential.

Drink less alcohol, this includes alomo  bitters, opa eyin , yoyo bitter and the likes of it.

Eat healthy and keep excess weight off. Not being over weight will prevent diabetes, heart diseases and other terrible conditions that can lead to kidney diseases.
Eat less red meat and more white meat and lots of fish
Reduce your salt intake and saturated fat intake (fatty beef, chicken skin, butter, cheese, burger or any processed meat)

DO NOT SMOKE

Keep fit and active.  Skip, run, jog, do whatever needs doing to that will  reduce your blood pressure

Avoid self medicating. Don't just over dose on pills. Even too much of paracetamol can  damage your organs.

Don't hold urine in your bladder for too long, its bad for you. When you feel the urge to wee, do it ASAP. (I'm guilty of this too)

So cheers to healthy Kidneys
:)
