Super Rich Nigerians now on Same Spending League as Chinese and Russian Millionaires in London

It is official and in the news, Nigerians are now rubbing shoulders with Chinese and Russian Millionaires in the London

I was at work "jejely" (Quietly) Minding my own business when I saw my colleague reading a news and in the headline was "Nigerian". I was very quick to ask, what now.....another bashing for Nigerians eh!

Only to realize it was dailymail.co.uk reporting that "Nigerians get mouth o"

In my mind I was thinking na today! its not a new thing now.

I remember when I was in Uni and we heard from an Asian landlord that a set  of newly built luxury flats were bought  cash down by Nigerians for their children studying there. I mean, no mortgage or loan, for at least 2 bedroom luxury flat in the 3rd Largest city in the UK.

Anyway back to this article of Nigerians showing off in London.

The article was about a program that aired tonight, so I quickly messaged hubby to please record it for me as I was still at work.

To say I was surprised was an understatement.

Ah Nigerian people can party and show OFF!

They are now using luxury places in London for their wedding.

I mean using Kensington palace for your wedding! The official residence of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  They will soon start renting Buckingham Palace.

It is no longer Euro or Dollar spending countries, they have gone for one of the highest currency spending countries in the world ( Pounds Sterling)

The people wey get champagne sef dey share am but the wedding planner Elizabeth Aisien  said, no o, not at Nigerian parties. Every one has a bottle of champagne to themselves. I mean a bottle each for about 3000 guests.  You can do the maths, that is over £150,000 just on champagnes (about 46 million naira) Ok now.....

There was even take home bags with luxury gifts in them!   I mean £5000 (1.5 million naira) watches, just as a thank you for attending a wedding!  Oh yes please :)

Ok it is not a big deal when it happens in Nigeria but now in the UK, in Pounds! It is a big deal

Tatler (British high class fashion and lifestyle magazine) said every third pound  spent in Harrods is spent by a Nigerian. I am sure you know what Harrods is all about?

It is all about luxury shopping. When I say Luxury I mean mega luxury.

If you dress down too much they won't let you in. If you turn up there in ripped jeans and slippers, don't bother going near the door, they will not let you in.

The dress code for CUSTOMERS is smart casual.

That is how posh it is.

So that is where Nigerians roll.

Me I don't have a problem o, as long as the money was made legitimately.

If you made your money, you need to spend it yourself. You can't take it to the grave with you na.

As you can imagine, people will be running their mouths about why the UK government is still sending foreign aids to Nigeria when they are this rich.

Little do they know that the Nigerians that can afford this kinda luxury are very very small as in 0.000000000000001 percent.

The fact that there are rich people in Nigeria also does not mean that there is no problem in the country. Aren't there rich people in the UK, are there no problems here?

Plus the British government will not stops sending it because they know what they get in return.
Of course from Oil, minerals, precious stones, metals and other kinds of businesses they run in Nigeria.

Oh well, their cup of tea.

you can watch the program yourself  here channel 5 on demand

Eamonn & Ruth: How The Other Half Lives,   9pm, Channel 5

I look forward to watching the rest of it.

Manners, Etiquettes and Manners

Hi peeps.

I have come again with my rants.

What is wrong with people?
Whatever happened to good manners?

When someone sees you and says hello especially in this part of the world, shouldn't you just answer?
And then find out if or how you know them.

This is why sometimes I don't blame the oyinbos for their fake smile, at least they smile at you even if they don't mean it.

I am the one for being courteous.

If someone sees you and smiles at you or goes a step further to say hello.  It is only fair you say hello back to them. That is the least you can do now.....abi is that too much to ask.

I use to tell off young people from church just because of this "hello/ hi "issue.

We are Christians right? if someone comes to church for the first time and you bump into them at the shopping mall later after service and you blank them like you have never seen the before!

what does that say about you?

Next week you pick up the mic and lead people to worship but see them after church and act like you have never seen the before.

Before you say han han you can't know or recognize everyone in church, i am talking about a small church so you have no excuse, and when they stop to say hello to you, it is a big shame if you don't answer.

Your character is not Christ like.

It does not hurt to say hello to someone especially if they are LOOKING AT YOU or SMILING at you.

Some of you will be complaining you don't have a man/woman.

Stay there o, if you are not approachable no one will want to talk to you.

Duh!

And if people say hello to you too, smile and answer.

It is just simple good manners, learn to say Hello and Hi, it will not kill you.
